more on Father Stephen...

Father Stephen Marcoux was born in 1956 in Great Falls, Minnesota, as the eldest son of 8 children; his father was a furniture maker, and his mother was a midwife.

Father Stephen spent most of his life in Connecticut, where he attended local schools.  Father Stephen was awarded an M.A. in Adult Education from the University of Connecticut in 1986.

Father Stephen then worked for ten years as a teacher, mostly in Connecticut, until his vocation to the priesthood.

In 1993, Father Stephen was awarded a Masters in Divinity from Blessed John the XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Mass.   Prior to coming to St. Matthew's, Father Stephen worked at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Manchester, Our Lady of The Miraculous Medal Parish in Hampton, St. Denis Parish in Hanover, and most recently, for the past six years, at the Parish of The Resurrection in Nashua.

Father Stephen Marcoux is a Chairman of the Council of Priests, serves as a Trustee for the Blessed John the XXIII Seminary in Weston, Mass, and also preaches at the Parish Missions at Cape Cod, Mass. and New Hampton, Connecticut.

By his word, through signs that manifest the reign of God, and by sending out his disciples, Jesus calls all people to come together around him. But above all in the great Paschal mystery - his death on the cross and his Resurrection - he would accomplish the coming of his kingdom.

"And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." Into this union with Christ all men are called to follow in his words.
