Christian Formation
The ministry of educating and forming members of the parish of St. Matthew in the faith of Roman Catholicism is Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and Church based. We strive to teach Christ, to live in the spirit of the gospel, and to evangelize members and non-members to do the same. We minister to one another in all phases of our lives from childhood through adulthood, and especially at sacramental moments.

Eucharistic Minister
Yours is service at the Lord's Reconciling Table. Eucharistic Ministers are called to minister the Body and Blood of Christ, as well attain a likeness of Christ. Eucharistic Ministers accomplish this by strengthening their faith from within and sharing it with the faithful at communion time.
As a Eucharistic Minister you will learn to become comfortable in establishing a relationship with each communicant in what is most likely the most intimate moment in the liturgy.

Lectors
The Liturgy of the Word, as a principal element of the Mass, contains the sacred texts of Scripture, revealing God speaking to His people. Lectors are instituted, as stated in the "General Instruction of the Roman Missal", as reader to proclaim the readings from Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel.
Lectors serve about once a month at the Mass of their choice. Lectors for a particular Mass are usually able to switch assignments among themselves. We always are pleased to enroll new lectors. Teens, seniors, men and women can serve as Lectors.
