worship

  • altar servers

Altar servers have the privilege of participating in the Mass in a unique way by assisting the priest at the altar of the Lord. Servers model reverence as they witness the miracle of the Eucharist up close. For those interested in this vital ministry, training and practice is provided. People of all ages can serve, and children who have already celebrated First Holy Communion are particularly encouraged to come forward. Please call the church office at 603.893.3336 or email Tim Stevens.

  • extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion

Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of the Sacred Body and Precious Blood of Christ at all Masses. They attend training sessions and are commissioned every three years by the Bishop at the request of Monsignor Anthony. If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister, please email Tim Stevens or the parish office.

  • lectors

Lectors make the Living Word of God present by their proclamation during the Liturgy of the Word. They are trained to help the congregation to better understand the scripture and to successfully communicate the message to the people. For more information about lectors, or to become a lector at St. Matthew, please email our parish office or call 603.893.3336.

  • music ministry

Sing to the Lord a new song! Yes, Sing!

Music is an integral part of the celebration of the Mass at St. Matthew, a public sign of our active worshipping community. Cantors lead us in song at all weekend Masses, and seasonal choirs help us celebrate at Christmas and Easter.

Interested in praising the Lord through music, either with voice or instrument? If you are called to this ministry to be one of God’s vessels to make joyful music for the Lord either as a cantor, in the choir, or with an instrument, please email our Choir Director, Peter Mahoney.

  • sacred environment team

The Sacred Environment Team prepares and maintains the décor of the church to reflect the beauty of the liturgical seasons, feasts, and holy days. Members meet and work collaboratively to enhance the liturgy through creating a sacred environment for worship. Many hands and many ideas come together in this group of parishioners who love their church and give their time and talent to beautify it. Anyone who enjoys working with others in a creative process and is interested in learning more about their faith through this liturgical ministry can call Nelia Jacobs at 603.475.3439 or call the office.

  • ushers

This important ministry of hospitality fosters a sense of welcome and belonging to those who assemble for prayer. The ushers assist in seating and provide assistance when and where it is needed. They handle the collection and direct the communion procession. For more information about ushers, or to become an usher at St. Matthew, please email the parish office or Skip Morganson.
