Liturgical ministry is an excellent opportunity to fulfill your baptismal call of service to one another. Our liturgies utilize the talents and gifts that God has given this community to the fullest extent. Parishioners are invited to share in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass serving as a Usher, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, or Altar Server. Service in these positions are most important in the celebration of the Liturgy. Please prayerfully consider joining one of our ministries.
ONE OF OUR MOST JUBILANT FORMS OF PRAISE OF OUR LORD IS TO JOIN IN SONG AND SING TO THE HEAVENS!
Please consider joining us by meeting our choir and becoming a part of something that will not only ll your heart with joy, but the hearts of our parishioners as well. Our choir will open its arms to anyone at least eighteen years of age who is interested in singing or playing an instrument. Teenagers can join with their parents. We rehearse on Monday evenings and take a summer break. Rehearsals begin at 7 PM. We understand that it may not be possible to make EVERY rehearsal, so we also rehearse for 30 minutes prior to Mass on Sunday morning. The choir sings at the 9:30AM Mass.
For more information on our Adult Choir, please email Peter Mahoney, Choir Director at [email protected] or call the parish office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Women and men of the parish with the gift to crochet or knit meet to pray together and make beautiful, comforting shawls for those in need of peace and healing. The group meets every Monday at 9:30am in Room 208 of the Parish Center. If you or someone else is in need of physical, spiritual or emotional healing and would like to receive a Prayer Shawl, please contact the parish office.
"Eyes on Jesus" Prayer Meetings
All are invited to praise and worship the Lord Jesus with scripture, song and prayer. We pray for our Saint Matthew's Parish, our families, our community (local and global), our clergy, our country and all special needs. All are welcome! Meetings take place on the 4th Saturday of each month from 5:15-6:15pm in Room 208 of the Parish Center.
Contemplative Intercessory Prayer Group
The members of our group are dedicated to contemplative prayer in this powerful ministry of intercession. The prayer group meets on Tuesday evenings in the church’s Eucharistic chapel. Due to covid, they are not meeting in person.
Homebound Ministry to the Sick
If a family member or a parishioner is ill and would like a visit from one of our ministers please let the parish office know. The homebound minister/priest will bring them Holy Communion. Fr. Brian is also available should the person request the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Sacrament of Anointing.
