new Parish Administrator announced

Dear St. Matthew Parish Family,

We are pleased to announce that Bishop Peter Libasci has appointed our own Deacon Leland Fastnacht as Administrator of St. Matthew Parish. This appointment will provide the parish with continuity in administration of the financial and temporal aspects of the parish as well as lay the groundwork for a smooth transition for an incoming pastor. As the Diocese of Manchester discerns the appointment of a new pastor we continue to pray for him and patiently await their decision.

A parish Administrator has the authority to make financial and administrative decisions and supports the staff in their various functions. Both the Parish Council and the Parish Finance Council serve to advise the Administrator, in a manner similar to that of a pastor. In addition and most importantly, the Administrator is present to the parish family, a visible sign of the love of God for His people. We can think of no better man than Deacon Leland to lead us in this time of grief and transition. We are thankful for his willingness to serve and we embrace him with prayer, respect, and love. What a blessing we have been given! May God give both Deacon Leland and his lovely wife, Michelle, the assurance of God’s grace and our deep gratitude.
